Level’s of Male Maturity
by coramdeo on Mar.30, 2010, under Culture, Thoughts
So I have been thinking and this is my theory about what level’s of male maturity there are out there. My theory is that males (and probably females too) have experience certain life events, in order to mature into the next stage of maturity. Now this doesn’t mean that every male who hits that stage is going to be as mature as he possibly could, it just means that his potential to mature has increased.
Let me explain it this way. Let’s say that maturity is a scale from 0-100, 100 being as mature as one could ever get, and 0 being an infant. So when a man get’s married lets say he now has unlocked the potential to mature to 80 on the scale, although he may only be scoring 50. Does this mean he will hit 80? Nope, it just means that before getting married, he couldn’t hit 80 if he wanted to.
You see the assumption is that I believe maturity is partially based on how accurately one sees the world especially themselves. The more you “mature” in life, the more you are aware of yourself, others, and the world, and the more realistic (how close to reality) your view becomes. I think there are probably 5 major maturity stages, although many smaller ones within these larger stages. Let me call them: Childhood, Adolescents, Underdeveloped Adult, Adult, and Well Developed Adult. If we use the 0-100 scale this would mean that one hits Childhood after a score of 20, Adolescents after 40, Adult after 60 and Mature Adult after 80. This even scale is just for simplicity, I would argue that certain stages actually are longer than others, but that would make this all too complicated. Note that I do not have infancy on the chart, infancy is basically a 0 level of maturity, when one moves from infancy to childhood they enter the number scale, again this is mainly for simplicity sake and keeping the scale nice round numbers.
What to look for in a spouse
by coramdeo on Nov.02, 2009, under Blog, Life Philosophy, Thoughts
I have been thinking about marriage, and while talking with some people I have decided to put down a few things I think we all should look for in a spouse, but let look at it from the other direction: ourselves.
One of the more important things in life is the ability to introspect your own self. I think we all spend too much time thinking about and talking about how everyone else should improve themselves, and not ourselves. So allow me here to challenge us all to better think about and work on ourselves, so that we can be the better spouse, and if we can be better, we will be in a better position to know and look for the right qualities in the other person.
In Defense of Marriage

The following is my attempt to help people think a little more clearly on the issues around marriage, and how it should be understood.
What is marriage?
Beauty
by coramdeo on Sep.16, 2009, under Blog, Culture, Life Philosophy, Philosophy, Thoughts
Have you ever thought about beauty? I mean really sat down and thought about what it is, where it comes from, and why it matters? I never really did until recently, so you are let of the hook, but now let us reason together.
You most likely have heard it said: “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”, a sentiment that I ultimately reject. Now I do not rule out people’s preferences, but what it ultimately boils down to is, the intrinsic beauty of something, is not dependent on what people feel or think about it.
A Key To Happiness and Success

This reminds me of the story of the two Bakers.
There were two Bakers in a town whose shops were across the street from each other. The first baker was an older man named Tom, and the other was a younger man named Bill. Tom had been baking in that city for many, many years, so many so that Bill wasn’t even born when Tom started Baking. Bill grew up in that town, eating Tom’s baked goods and quickly fell in love with baking himself. When he was 12 he promised himself that he would open a bakery right next to Tom’s and would bake just like Tom, and everyone would love him and his goods as much as they loved Tom and his.
Does God Try?
by coramdeo on Sep.04, 2009, under Religion, Thoughts
I have been thinking about a concept that many people use when talking about God. Better yet I have a question that I would like to ask and postulate some of my thoughts about it: Does God try?
What I mean is, does God try to be heard, try to get things done, but is ultimately hindered in what He wants to do? Is it the case that God tries to speak to us, but we just do not listen? Does this mean we just need to learn to listen better? Or is it the case that God tries to accomplish some work, but Satan or humans thwart it? Is God in heaven wringing His hands hoping that His plans will work out, that humans will corporate with Him? Is this the image of God we have in the Bible?
7 Responses to 7 Challenges
by coramdeo on Jul.21, 2009, under Philosophy, Religion, Thoughts
I am writing this blog in response to a challenge I received in regards to some of the things I believe. I think some of my challengers responses are valid and deserve response. Perhaps some of you have heard similar things from people you know, so I hope that this post will answer some questions, create others, and over all help us all get closer to the truth (if it exists) of reality and religion. I will sum up his points here, ask some questions that need responses, and give my thoughts on the matter.

A Challenge to Atheism / Evolution
by coramdeo on Jul.20, 2009, under Culture, Life Philosophy
I was recently challenged in regards to my beliefs as a Christian. Now I think those challenges are worthy of a response, which I will get to in another blog. However, it should be noted that Christianity isn’t the only worldview out there making claims. The Atheists cannot just sit back and sling arrows at Christianity and think they are immune from challenges themselves. In fact for Atheism to be true, it must not only show Christianity to be false (every religion as well), but it must also then put up its own evidence for its philosophy of reality. Both Atheism and Religion make claims on reality, and they both cannot be right, perhaps wrong, but not both right at the same time in the same way.
It seems that Christianity is usually the blunt of jokes, criticisms, questions, and attacks, so that the Christian is usually just on the defensive. However, like I said before this shouldn’t be the case. The Evolutionist / Atheists believes some things about reality, and must be able to defend his or her view. It is not enough to say Christianity is wrong thus I am right, there must actually be evidence put forth on the Atheists side to explain the difficult questions in life. So I will start out with some of my own challenges to Atheism / Evolution which require their response, and then later I will respond to the challenges that were made to me. Please note that there are issues in life that must be explained and the view that explains it the best and simplest is probably the most accurate view of reality.
Gain the Whole World? Perez Hilton
by coramdeo on Jul.13, 2009, under Life Philosophy
What if you gained the whole world and lost your soul? Would it be worth it? Proverbs 22:1 “A good name is to be more desired than great wealth, Favor is better than silver and gold.” Is this you? Do you desire a good name (good reputation) over riches? Are you willing to sacrifice a little of your name to “make it”? What is your buy out?
I was reading an Article on Perez Hilton in Entertainment Magazine. Sorry I do not have it in front of me so I will not “Quote” from it. While reading it a couple things came to mind. First it seems no one really likes Perez Hilton, yet he doesn’t seem to care. He said something about not caring if people liked him, only if people went to his blog. Then the article said he took home $70K something a week or month (I forget) from just advertising on his blog. I guess to Mr. Hilton $70k a month is better than a good name.
Burn the Witches! Global Warming – The New Salem
by coramdeo on Jul.01, 2009, under Blog
You know what scares me? The fact that our country, our government is still charging forth, like a raging bull, on its pilgrimage to rid us of Global Warming. The fear mongering, and hysteria that revolves around this “danger”, is mind numbing. It reminds me of the history story about the witch hunts. You remember that back in Salem in 1692 people were running around looking for witches. The sad thing to me is that back then they had more evidence for witches existing than we do of man made Global Warming. Global Warming: the 21st century’s witch hunt. That’s what it really boils down to, a witch hunt for something that there is no evidence that exists.
Yes, I said it, there is no evidence that man made Global Warming really exists. Perhaps the Globe is warming, that is still in debate, but the evidence is that man has nothing to do with it. In fact there are scientists who argue that a warmer Globe would be way better for the world. The BBC claims on The Great Global Warming Swindle (watch it here), that perhaps Global Warming has no evidence as being man made.
